1.
Come, thou long-expected Jesus, Born to set thy people free; From our fears and sins release us; Let us find our rest in thee. Israel's strength and consolation, Hope of all the earth thou art; Dear Desire of every nation, Joy of every longing heart. Joy to those who long to see thee, Dayspring from on high, appear Come, thou promised Rod of Jesse, Of thy birth we long to hear! O’er the hills the angels singing News, glad tidings of a birth: “Go to him, your praises bringing; Christ the Lord has come to earth” Come to earth to taste our sadness, He whose glories knew no end; By his life he brings us gladness, Our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend. Leaving riches without number, Born within a cattle stall; This the everlasting wonder, Christ was born the Lord of all. Born thy people to deliver, Born a child, and yet a King, Born to reign in us for ever, Now thy gracious kingdom bring. By thine own eternal Spirit Rule in all our hearts alone; By thine all-sufficient merit Raise us to thy glorious throne.
2.
O come, o come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Isael, That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear. (Chorus) Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan’s tyranny; From depths of hell Thy people save, And give them victory over the grave. O come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here; Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, And death’s dark shadows put to flight. O come, Desire of nations, bind In one the hearts of all mankind; Bid Thou our sad divisions cease, And be Thyself our King of Peace.
3.
Come, Lord, and tarry not; bring the long looked for day; O why these years of waiting here, these ages of delay? Come, for Thy saints still wait; daily ascends their sigh; The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come”; does Thou not hear the cry? O come and make all things new. Come and make all things new O come and make all things new. Build up this ruined Earth, Come and make all things new. Come, for creation groans, impatient of Thy stay, Worn out with these long years of ill, these ages of delay. Come, for love waxes cold, its steps are faint and slow; Faith now is lost in unbelief, hope’s lamp burns dim and low.
4.
Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and with fear and trembling stand; Ponder nothing earthly minded, for with blessing in his hand Christ our God to earth descendeth, our full homage to demand. King of kings, yet born of Mary, as of old on earth he stood, Lord of lords in human vesture, in the Body and the Blood He will give to all the faithful his own self for heavenly food. Rank on rank the host of heaven spreads its vanguard on the way, As the Light of Light descendeth from the realms of endless day, That the powers of hell may vanish as the darkness clears away. At his feet the six-winged seraph; cherubim with sleepless eye, Veil their faces to the Presence, as with ceaseless voice they cry, "Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia, Lord Most High!"
5.
Comfort, comfort ye my people, Speak ye peace, thus says our God; Comfort those who sit in darkness, mourning ‘neath their sorrow’s load; Speak ye to Jerusalem of the peace that waits for them; Tell her that her sins I cover, and her warfare now is over. Yea, her sins our God will pardon, blotting out each dark misdeed; All that well deserved his anger he no more will see or heed. She hath suffered many a day, now her griefs have passed away; God will change her pining sadness into ever-springing gladness. For the herald’s voice is crying in the desert far and near, Bidding all men to repentance, since the kingdom now is here. O, that warning cry obey! Now prepare for God a way! Let the valleys rise to meet Him, and the hills bow down to greet Him. Make ye straight what long was crooked, make the rougher places plain: Let your hearts be true and humble, as befits God’s holy reign, For the glory of the Lord now o’er the earth is shed abroad, And all flesh shall see the token that God’s Word is never broken.
6.
For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. Truly our hope is in You, Truly our hope is in You. O Lord of life, our only hope. Your radiance shines on all who look – To You in the dark. Emmanuel come, Come light our hearts. For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. Truly our hope is in You, Truly our hope is in You. O Joy above all other loves, In you we find more than enough; We come as we are, O heal and restore, Come light our hearts. For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. For you, O Lord, our souls in stillness wait. Truly our hope is in You, Truly our hope is in You. Truly our hope is in You.
7.
Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates; behold the King of glory waits! The King of kings is drawing near; the Savior of the world is here. (Chorus) Redeemer, come, with us abide; our hearts to thee we open wide; let us thy inner presence feel; thy grace and love in us reveal. Fling wide the portals of your heart; make it a temple, set apart from earthly use for heaven's employ, adorned with prayer and love and joy. So shall your Sovereign enter in And new and nobler life begin. The end of all our woe He brings; Therefore rejoice and gladly sing: Thy Holy Spirit lead us on until our glorious goal is won; eternal praise, eternal fame be offered, Savior, to thy Name!
8.
Hark! a thrilling voice is sounding; 'Christ is nigh,' it seems to say; 'Cast away the dreams of darkness, O ye children of the day.’ Wakened by the solemn warning, let the earth-bound soul arise; Christ, her Sun, all ill dispelling, shines upon the morning skies. (Chorus) Honor, glory, might, and blessing to the Father and the Son, with the everlasting Spirit, while eternal ages run. Lo, the Lamb, so long expected, comes with pardon down from heaven; let us haste, with tears of sorrow, one and all to be forgiven; That when next he comes with glory, and the world is wrapped in fear, with his mercy he may shield us, and with words of love draw near.
9.
For unto us a Child is born, For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, unto us a Son is given: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
10.
Joy to the world! The Lord is come: Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n and nature sing And heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing. Joy to earth! The Savior reigns: Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
11.
It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold: "Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven's all-gracious King." The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing. “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” Still through the cloven skies they come with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heavenly music floats o'er all the weary world; above its sad and lowly plains, they bend on hovering wing, and ever o'er its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing. “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” And ye, beneath life's crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow, look now! for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing. O rest beside the weary road, and hear the angels sing! “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” For lo! the days are hastening on, by prophet seen of old, when with the ever-circling years shall come the time foretold when peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling, and the whole world send back the song which now the angels sing. “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” “Gloria in excelsis Deo!”
12.
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem. Come and behold Him, born the King of angels; O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord. Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation; O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above! Glory to God, all glory in the highest; Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning; Jesus, to Thee be glory given; Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing.
13.
Angels from the realms of glory Wing your flight o’er all the earth; Ye who sang creation’s story Now proclaim Messiah’s birth. (Refrain) Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King. Shepherds, in the field abiding, Watching o’er your flocks by night, God with us is now residing; Yonder shines the infant light. Saints, before the altar bending, Watching long in hope and fear; Suddenly the Lord, descending, In His temple shall appear. Sinners, wrung with true repentance, Doomed for guilt to endless pains, Justice now revokes the sentence, Mercy calls you; break your chains. All creation, join in praising God, the Father, Spirit, Son, Evermore your voices raising To th’eternal Three in One.
14.
Jesus, our Brother, strong and good, Was humbly born in a stable rude, And the friendly beasts around Him stood, Jesus, our Brother, strong and good. “I,” said the donkey, shaggy and brown, “I carried His mother uphill and down, I carried His mother to Bethlehem town; I,” said the donkey, shaggy and brown. “I,” said the cow, all white and red, “I gave Him my manger for His bed, I gave Him hay to pillow His head; I,” said the cow, all white and red. “I,” said the sheep with curly horn, “I gave Him my wool for His blanket warm, He wore my coat on Christmas morn; I,” said the sheep with curly horn. “I,” said the dove, from the rafters high, “I cooed Him to sleep that He should not cry, We cooed Him to sleep, my mate and I; I,” said the dove, from the rafters high. Thus all the beasts, that loved him well, In the stable dark were glad to tell Of the gifts they gave Emmanuel, The gifts they gave Emmanuel.
15.
Behold the Child of God, our Savior has come down; That we might know His love He set aside his crown, To call His people to His name and His renown Alleluia! Behold the Son of God, the Father is well pleased, And those who know His voice will follow where he leads; Friend of sinners, Shepherd, Savior, and High Priest, Alleluia! Alleluia! He is worthy and adored; Alleluia! sing His name with one accord; Alleluia! with the angels praise the Lord, Alleluia! Alleluia! Behold the Lamb of God who died upon a tree; A perfect sacrifice in love on Calvary, Who takes upon a world of sin and suffering, Alleluia! Behold the King of Kings who walked out of the grave To conquer death and hell for those He came to save, And He will rise, and He will live, and He will reign, Alleluia!
16.
What Child is this who, laid to rest
 On Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
 While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
 Haste, haste, to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Why lies He in such mean estate,
 Where ox and ass are feeding?
 Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
 The silent Word is pleading.
 Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
 The cross be borne for me, for you.
 Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
 The Babe, the Son of Mary. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
 Come peasant, king to own Him;
 The King of kings salvation brings,
 Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
 Raise, raise a song on high,
 The virgin sings her lullaby.
 Joy, joy for Christ is born,
 The Babe, the Son of Mary.
17.
No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders of His love.
18.
Silent night, holy night, All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and Child. Holy Infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night, Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar, Heav'nly hosts sing Alleluia; Christ the Savior is born; Christ the Savior is born. Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth; Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth. Silent night, holy night Wondrous star, lend thy light; With the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!
19.
Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King;
 Peace on earth, and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled!”
 Joyful, all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies;
 With th’angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!” (Refrain) Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!” Christ, by highest Heav’n adored; Christ the everlasting Lord;
 Late in time, behold Him come,
 Offspring of a virgin’s womb.
 Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; Hail th’incarnate Deity,
 Pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus our Emmanuel. Hail the heav’nly Prince of Peace!
 Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
 Light and life to all He brings,
 Ris’n with healing in His wings.
 Mild He lays His glory by,
 Born that man no more may die.
 Born to raise the sons of earth,
 Born to give them second birth.
