Arise, My Soul, Arise is an early Indelible Grace hymn retuned by Kevin Twit. During the spring of 2020, the music at RMC was stripped down to just one vocal, acoustic guitar and piano. In an effort to keep the music interesting with limited players, that small combo inspired a number of alternate arrangements for our regular hymns, including Arise, My Soul, Arise. This arrangement approaches the hymn from a slightly different perspective and casts the hymn in a different light.

Arise, My Soul Arise
Words: Charles Wesley, 1742; alt Kevin Twit
Music: Kevin Twit, 1996
Arise, my soul, arise, shake off your guilty fears;
The bleeding sacrifice, in my behalf appears;
Before the throne my Surety stands,
Before the throne my Surety stands,
My name is written on His hands.
(Chorus)
Arise, arise, arise
Arise, my soul, arise.
Arise, arise, arise
Arise, my soul, arise.
Shake off your guilty fears and rise
He ever lives above, for me to intercede;
His all redeeming love, His precious blood, to plead;
His blood atoned for every race,
His blood atoned for every race,
And sprinkles now the throne of grace. (Chorus)
Five bleeding wounds He bears; received on Calvary;
They pour effectual prayers; they strongly plead for me:
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Nor let that ransomed sinner die!” (Chorus)
My God is reconciled; His pardoning voice I hear;
He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear
With confidence I now draw nigh,
With confidence I now draw nigh,
And “Father, Abba, Father,” cry. (Chorus)

path of worship style between “traditional” and “contemporary” bringing together the richness and depth of traditional hymns and the modern musical sensibilities of contemporary worship....more
